[Kate & Leopold]《隔世俏佳人》External Link

Borrowed the DVD "Kate & Leopold" from a friend because of Meg Ryan. This is a very original romantic comedy. Kate (by Meg Ryan) is a modern excutive living in New York in the 21st century. Leopold (by Huge Jackman) is a gentleman also living in New York but in the 1870's. Kate's ex-boyfriend Stuart has found a way to travel through time and accidentally takes Leopold with him. A gentleman from the age of inventions meets a modern girl. Two dislike each other because of the huge difference between their understanding to the world at different times. They then fall in love after discovering the beauties inside each other. The story goes with an interesting ending even. Do not think it's a sci-fi. You will admit that the light love story draws your entire focus. You will not spare to question or to reason about the time travel.

Huge Jackman sccessfully and wholeheartedly plays a gentleman role. He's no longer the rude Wolverine. You can see Leopold well-educated with dignity. You barely find such a good man in the morden world.

I like watching Meg Ryan since her appearance in "Sleepless in Seattle" which is my first dating movie with my ex-girlfriend. I was then further impressed by "City of Angels" opposite Nicolas Cage and "You've got Mail" opposite Tom Hanks again. Meg looks like a plain girl but charming. Her plays in romantic stories are so convincing. She shows an image of a perfect combination of being independent and sometime dependent. If you like Meg too, you will never be disppointed by this movie.
